A private school in Burgess Hill wanted to make better use of an underused classroom block, converting it into dedicated SEN and SEND classrooms and support facilities.

We shaped the layout and interior design around the specific learning requirements of the pupils who would use the space, prioritising light, calm and a sense of openness to support wellbeing and concentration.

The upgrade also included improvements to the building fabric, ensuring the facility performs well as a comfortable, long-term learning environment.

Beyond the immediate benefit to pupils, the finished space was designed with the school's marketability in mind, we understand that a well-considered SEN and SEND offer is increasingly something prospective parents look for, and the quality of the environment plays a real part in how visitors experience the school during a tour.
