LISTED BUILDINGS

We regularly work with listed buildings where even what may seem like relatively minor alterations will require Listed Building Consent sometimes in addition to Planning Permission. Our extensive experience in and around the historic fabric of Brighton mean we are well versed in guiding our clients through this sensitive area.

As part of our design process, we research the history of the building and let ourselves be guided by what we discover. Quite often these clues will positively steer the design process, and we often uncover gems of lost history which where possible we strive to reinstate.

We think it is important to work with sensitivity and integrity toward the listed building’s fabric and will always do what we believe is right by the building.

Carrying out work without permission to a Listed Building is a criminal offence, so it is essential you engage a professional who understands and is familiar with the process.
